The 2013 version of our annual Open House dawned somewhat damp and then it got a little more damp. Oh well, we were doing this for the salmon and they didn't mind the rain. From 10:00am till 3:00pm we had a steady stream of visitors to our Education Centre & Hatchery all wanting to take a bucket of young fish to the creek. Having taken care of the young Coho for the past 18 months, we were sad to see them go but we hoped to see some come back in a few years. All in all, it was a fun and successful event for our society and for the community as the following images will show.

After the Open House was over and visitors had left, it was time to sit back and relax. But wait, isn't there a special reason to celebrate?
Only days before, society member, Jean Peachman was presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award from the City of Port Coquitlam on their 100th Anniversary of incorporation.
Jean shared slices of her special cake with friends, family and society members.
This was a great way to end the day. Tomorrow we will prep for the May Day Parade.
